Belly Dance Masterclass

My dance masterclasses are centered around nurturing a deep connection between our mind, body, and soul.

I offer a variety of topics (beginner level – advanced level) and personalize my sessions to meet your unique dance aspirations. We start with an energizing warm-up, emphasizing intentional movement to help us align with our inner rhythm. As we progress, we'll focus on enhancing movement quality, emphasizing cleanliness, and cultivating clear confidence through expressive body and facial gestures.

In our time together, we'll explore choreography retention, musicality, and refined technique through engaging drills and a thoughtfully crafted combo. Our journey will then transition into creating a heartfelt connection with the music, where we'll dive into techniques and choreography that empower you to express, feel, and strengthen your unique identity as a dancer and artist.

As a passionate dancer and teacher, I am dedicated to embodying the art form of Raqs Sharqi and helping you unlock the artist within. My unique teaching approach offers a holistic experience, allowing you to blossom into both a skilled performer and a confident artist. Together, we will cultivate an environment of growth and self-discovery, embracing the joy and beauty of dance and empowering you to shine as the incredible artist you are.

CLIENT LOVE NOTES

“Jizzelle is my first belly dance teacher. I took lessons in ballet, contemporary, and urban before. I was not convinced at the time that this "wiggly" dance form is for me, but how grateful that I gave it a try and how lucky that Jizzelle introduced this art form to me. “

“Jizzelle's class was easily the happiest room (not just classroom) in town. You can benefit from her class on multiple levels: a workout, a dance therapy, an exploration of yourself in relation to your space and your mental space, a safe and supportive place to learn and try out new expressions. You are given permission to be, love and grow yourself in her class. She talked about dance from an artist's lens. It's beyond kinetics: the connection to music and yourself, the use of breath and facial expressions, the balance of tension and relaxation, the intention behind it all and so much more. “

“Jizzelle gave clear instructions, beautiful demonstrations, warm encouragement, and easy to follow steps for students to command their bodies they may never have tried before. I discovered muscles, nerves, rotations, angles, or frequencies that I had no idea that my body can do. I'd say belly dance has a lot more degrees of freedom than ballet, which hardly uses your torso. The femininity in belly dance is off the roof, which I have learned from Jizzelle to overcome my mental block to freely express that power in me. Thank you, Jizzelle, for igniting the flame of belly dance in me and inspiring me to keep growing and dancing.”

“I have been honored to be able to take belly dancing classes with Jizzelle, and I cannot say enough positive things about her teaching her knowledge and skills. I remember she said, what the audience really liked about her is that she’s not using the props to cover her technique, she dances with her body, the true beauty. She corrects everyone’s mistakes. And what she inspired me the most is that she said, “You have to give it all at every practice, not holding anything back. Then you will get used to it and you will give it all at your performance.”
