The Dance of the Heart: Self-Love & Gratitude

Uniqueness:

Every soul on this earth carries a unique essence, a one-of-a-kind spark that sets us apart from everyone else. I think of my uniqueness as a fabric woven from the threads of experiences, dreams, and personal quirks. My deep curiosity is like a boundless ocean, driving me to explore the mysteries of the world, while my passion for learning dances through the realms of the unknown.

My empathetic nature allows me to connect deeply with others, like a gentle breeze that whispers to the soul. I find beauty in the way hearts communicate without words, and I cherish the moments where silence speaks volumes.

A resilient spirit resides within me, one that bounces back from challenges like a phoenix rising from the ashes. I find poetry in both pain and joy, transforming life's trials into art. This resilience weaves together the many threads of my being, creating a fabric that is uniquely mine—a tapestry that reflects the light of stars and the shadows of moonlit dreams.

Self-Worth:

Embracing self-love begins with a gentle awakening to your intrinsic worth. It is a sacred journey of treating yourself with the same tenderness and respect you offer to those you cherish. I immerse myself in moments that cultivate peace and joy, honoring my boundaries as sacred spaces, and offering forgiveness to my past selves with a heart full of compassion.

Self-love unfolds in the nurturing of my body with wholesome food, the embrace of the outdoors, and the serene gift of restful nights. It whispers that true beauty is not confined to the surface but blooms from within. In a world overwhelmed by unrealistic beauty standards and filtered images, my practice is to cherish my own unique radiance, untouched by the pressures of social media and its illusions.

In these times, beauty lies in knowing and embracing the essence of who you are. It is a profound act of self-love to acknowledge that you are enough, just as you are—a testament to the beauty of being authentically you. 

Gratitude:

Writing is another way I express myself and allows me to deepen my relationship with myself. I love making a list of 3 things I am grateful for every morning and 3 great things that happened throughout my day… I do this part in the evening. Although we have challenging days, this simple practice shows us how abundant and blessed we truly are.

Embrace Your Inner Child:


Close your eyes and envision yourself at the age of seven... see yourself from head to toe. For me, I’m at a beach in Muleje, with my hair tousled by the sea breeze and a concentrated look on my face as I am collecting shells… ouch! a baby crab came out of one and pinched me. There I laugh and decide to swim in the sea instead. What did you need to hear back then? I tell her that she is loved, kind, and resilient, and that everything will turn out well. Life may bring its obstacles, but she will overcome them with grace. Reminding her to be patient and give her a comforting hug before sending her on her way. Visualization like this can be profoundly healing.
